Ben conducts research and due diligence across all asset classes, inclusive of real assets, commodities, private equity and other alternative investments. He assists in origination, research and structuring for co-investment transactions and monitors indirect manager allocations and direct investments for Echelon Partners LP and related co-investment strategies.

Ben joined the Merriman team in 2016 from Summit Capital where he was an Investment Strategy Director and served on the Executive Team. Prior to joining Summit Capital in 2010, Ben spent five years at BlackRock, Inc. (formerly Quellos Capital Management). While at BlackRock, Ben managed the foreign currency hedging and portable alpha swap programs associated with BlackRock’s hedge fund of funds. Ben received his BBA in Finance from Gonzaga University in 2001 and his MBA from the University of Notre Dame graduating magna cum laude in 2010. In addition, Ben is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) charter holder.

Ben is a global adventurer, having traveled to five continents, while additionally spending time climbing, running, and golfing back here in Seattle. A Washington state native, Ben and his wife live in Seattle.
