I’m Michael Van Sant

Wealth Advisor, CFP®, Chartered SRI Counselor

I help people find sustainable balance and enjoy peace of mind throughout their lives.

Planning with your goals in mind

We work hard to understand who you are and what you want to accomplish, both personally and professionally, so we can best support you and your family in achieving your goals.

We're more than just investments

Together, we’ll implement a customized plan for all areas of your financial life: Investments, taxes, estate planning, insurance, charitable giving, and more.

Let’s build a plan based on your goals and values.

I was raised in a family that worked hard and saved and invested. Someday my parents were going to enjoy all their hard work. Then, my mom died in 2005 at 68 years old. She never really got to enjoy her lifetime of hard work.

I love bringing people peace of mind throughout their lives by helping them find the balance my mom didn’t get to enjoy — between saving and spending, working and enjoying life, growth and safe investments.

I use a collaborative process based on my client’s goals and values to build a transparent plan that allows them to spend time following their passions with their loved ones.

Are you worried about retiring too soon or late?

Are you worried about health care costs?

How much is enough?

What will happen to your spouse if something happens to you?

When should you take Social Security?

How do I minimize taxes?

Streamlining your accounts and getting organized can help ensure you’re on track toward your goals.

I’ll help you confidently make decisions about complex financial tools like Social Security, 401(k)s, pensions and Medicare.

My fiduciary responsibility means we’ll always be working toward the same goals: Yours.

Reduce Stress

We’ll work together to alleviate your worries so you can spend more time on other areas of life.

About Me

I grew up in Pasadena, California, and began my investment career there in 1995 after graduating from the University of Colorado with a bachelor’s degree in International Business. Since becoming a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ in 2005, I have worked exclusively for fee-only investment advisory firms and have helped over 600 clients meet their goals by building customized investment strategies based on their personal financial plans.

I moved to Seattle in 2000 to be closer to the mountains and when I am not working, I love spending time outdoors with my wife Cara, son Chris, and daughter Caitlin. Together, we love to ski, hike, camp, play basketball, and ride bikes. I am a member of POW (Protect our Winters), Seattle Philanthropic Advisors, and a board member of Act of Giving.
