I'm Paresh Kamdar

It all started with a bike. A beautiful chromoly Mongoose BMX bike had just come out the year I turned 15, and I wanted it so badly. My dad found it the perfect opportunity to teach me some hard lessons in earning, saving and spending. I was frustrated then, when I realized it would take a lot longer to earn the bike than I thought, but eventually my efforts paid off and I appreciated the bike so much more for it.

Something else happened through this experience though. I became enamored with savings, and the fact that my bank paid me just to hold my money. My interest in banking grew along with my savings, which eventually led me to this career in finance.

I came to Merriman because I believe in what the company stands for. Our founder, Paul Merriman, built a firm based on understanding what really matters when you work with investments. I know I’ve done my job when a client comes in with questions or worries, and throughout the course of our meeting, I see them visibly relax because they now understand their options and potential outcomes.

I married the love of my life, Sibyl, more than 20 years ago and we enjoy a variety of outdoor experiences with our extended family, including three nephews and a niece we just love being with. My wife is a veterinarian, so we share an ability to impact our clients in a few of the most emotional aspects of life. We have two dogs, both terrier mix rescues, Bodie and Tater Tot. We all love spending time outside playing year-round in the mountains.
